The Cluster Trasporti’s commitment to reactivating the thematic working groups (Working Groups) related to individual transport modalities continues.

In this phase, priority has been given to the resumption of the Working Groups dedicated to maritime transport (on July 21st at 4:00 PM), and rail transport, which will hold its first meeting on September 18th at 4:00 PM.

Priorities of the Working Groups

As anticipated during the recent Cluster Trasporti Assembly, we are announcing the reactivation of our Working Groups.

Thematic working groups (road, rail, waterways, and ITS) are essential for promoting collaboration in the field of transport with the support of members; for a sharing of strategic priorities looking towards future innovation.

In this phase, as anticipated above, priority has been given to the reactivation of the Working Groups dedicated to maritime and rail transport. The main purpose of these groups is to foster the sharing of topics of common interest, areas of activity, and potential initiatives.

Specifically, each WG aims to support the preparation of documents and position papers; define a joint communication strategy (which includes promoting news through the Cluster’s portal, social channels, and associates) and participate in sector events such as workshops, conferences, and fairs.

The WG on rail transport

The first meeting of the rail WG is scheduled for September 18th at 4:00 PM. Similar to the WG dedicated to rail transport, the objective of this first meeting will be to collect ideas and proposals from participants, in order to define an initial plan of activities to be launched.

Agenda and proposed areas of work

The areas of work outlined for the Working Groups are broad and intend to actively influence the national and European context, including the drafting of documents and position papers to be submitted to institutions.

The agenda for the September 18th meeting, in particular, will see the participation of interested members to outline the state of the art, priorities, and initial proposals for activities.

Among the priority themes identified for the activities of the WGs on rail transport, the following stand out:

• Sustainability and digitalization;

• Infrastructure, services, intermodality, and integration;

• The potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation;

• The issue of safety.

Currently, Cluster Trasporti is actively collecting memberships from interested associates. The specific topics and activities to be addressed will be defined and structured in detail based on the contributions that emerge during this first meeting, as the program is still in the elaboration phase.
